Fly into Maharana Pratap Airport (UDR) in Udaipur. If you're coming from abroad, we recommend flying into Mumbai (BOM) or Delhi (DEL) and then taking a connecting flight to Udaipur.

RAAS Devigarh is about 45 minutes to an hour from the airport by car. Udaipur City railway station is about an hour away.

RAAS Devigarh is an 18th-century palace built across many levels, with lots of stairs. There is a lift, but not every area is step-free. If anyone in your group needs help getting around, please let us know on WhatsApp.

Late November in the Aravalli hills is sunny, dry and pleasant. Days are usually 26 to 28°C and nights 11 to 14°C, with little to no rain. Sunset is around 5:45 PM.

Many evening events are outdoors and it cools down quickly after dark. We'll share the actual forecast closer to the date.

• Light, breathable layers for the daytime events.
• A shawl or light jacket for the evenings.
• Sunglasses and sunscreen. The midday sun is strong.
• Comfortable shoes. The venue has lawns, courtyards, stone pathways and plenty of stairs, so flats, sandals, block heels and wedges work best.

Udaipur city is about 45 minutes from the hotel. Cars are available through the weekend if you'd like to explore or go shopping between events. Just tell us a day ahead and we'll arrange one.

See and do

• City Palace. Udaipur's most iconic landmark, overlooking Lake Pichola, with grand courtyards, ornate balconies and beautiful views of the city and lake.
• Lake Pichola boat ride. Go at sunset for views of the City Palace, Jag Mandir and the Aravalli hills.
• Jag Mandir. An island palace in the middle of Lake Pichola, known for its marble architecture, gardens and calm setting.
• Sajjangarh (Monsoon Palace). Perched high in the Aravallis, with one of the best views of Udaipur, especially around sunset.
• Bagore Ki Haveli. A historic haveli on the waterfront, known for its architecture, royal collections and evening Dharohar folk dance shows.
• Jagdish Temple. An intricately carved 17th-century Hindu temple in the heart of the old city, just outside the City Palace.
• Eklingji and Nagda Temples. Ancient temples close to the hotel, worth a short visit.
• Old City heritage walk. Wander the narrow lanes around Hathipole and Jagdish Chowk, past old havelis, temples, local artisans and colorful markets.
• Kumbhalgarh Fort. A great day trip, famous for its massive walls stretching across the Aravallis and its hilltop setting.

• Hathipole Bazaar. Traditional Rajasthani textiles, miniature paintings, antiques, puppets, leather goods and souvenirs. Old City. Open in Maps
• Bada Bazaar. A lively local market for colorful fabrics, jewelry, juttis, bangles and traditional Rajasthani pieces. Old City. Open in Maps
• Jagdish Chowk. Small shops and local artisans selling jewelry, paintings, textiles and traditional souvenirs. Near the City Palace. Open in Maps
• Shilpgram. A rural arts and crafts village. A good place for authentic crafts inspired by Rajasthan's traditional arts. Near Fateh Sagar Lake. Open in Maps
• Nayika, Ganesh Handicrafts and Aavaran. Contemporary takes on traditional Indian textiles, block prints and handcrafted pieces.

Eat and drink

• Upre by 1559 AD. Rooftop dining overlooking Lake Pichola and the City Palace. Especially beautiful around sunset.
• Sheesh Mahal. Elegant lakeside fine dining at The Leela Palace.
• Ambrai. A classic Udaipur spot right on the edge of Lake Pichola, with postcard views of the City Palace.
• Khamma Ghani. Relaxed Rajasthani and North Indian food with lovely lake views.
• Jheel's Rooftop. A casual rooftop café over the lake, ideal for breakfast or afternoon coffee.
• Savage Garden. A charming, intimate restaurant tucked away in the old city, with a European and Mediterranean menu.
• Baro Masi. A stylish rooftop bar at Raffles Udaipur, ideal for sundowners and cocktails.
• The AmBar. A rooftop bar at The Oberoi Udaivilas with wide views over the lake.

Local favorites to try

• Dal Baati Churma. Rajasthan's signature dish of baked baati with dal, ghee and sweet churma.
• Gatte ki Sabzi. Soft gram-flour dumplings in a spiced yogurt gravy.
• Laal Maas. A fiery mutton curry, traditionally made with Mathania chilies.
• Ker Sangri. A traditional desert dish made with dried berries and beans.
• Mirchi Vada. Large green chilies, stuffed, battered and fried. A classic Rajasthani snack.
• Pyaaz Kachori. Flaky fried pastry filled with spicy onion. Perfect with chai.
• Malai Ghewar. A delicate Rajasthani sweet, popular at festive times.
